About Janus Literary Agency

Janus was an active firm during the 1980's, when I was an associate of the late Bertha Klausner (Bertha Klausner International Literary Agency) and garnered sales to Harper & Row, Morrow, Simon and Schuster, and other major firms. However, since 1987, I have been relatively inactive. My reservations about the publishing industry and concerns about current trends are a matter of record (cf., various posts below!).

At present the service offered is generally consultational, rather than representative. I provide editorial and ghost-writing assistance, and also help authors prepare their texts for digital publication. However, I am effectively an agent in name only, and it is only on rare occasions that I might assist authors with actual negotiations.
